Program Management Manager


The Program Management Manager will be responsible for timely and successful delivery of the global portfolio of projects, project management, and business relationship management. The Program Management Manager collaborates with business unit management and business partners to develop/maintain strategic plans and operational processes. In addition to day-to-day management of people and projects, the manager will be expected to think strategically and participate in long-term planning efforts to improve delivery models, monitoring tools, support metrics, overall product(s) quality, end of product life strategies, and revenue generation.


Primary Responsibilities:



  • Manage/mentor/coach Program Management team.


  • Proactively identify out of scope activities, support negotiations with customers on project budgets, pricing, and delivery.


  • Manage intra-project customer expectations. Anticipate customer needs and plan accordingly.


  • Find creative and cost-effective ways to meet quality metrics agreed with customers.


  • Uses experience from past projects and lessons learned to adapt and implement quality improvements across projects currently being managed. Ensure project risks are discussed at project reviews.


  • Escalate risks newly identified by the project teams to executive leadership.


  • May be assigned direct reports for the training, utilization, development and performance reviews of assigned staff.


  • Expected to co-develop, track, and meet project management metrics in alignment with overall business objectives.


  • This position will support sales and engineering activities to achieve revenue targets, supports assigned projects by effectively initiating, coordinating and completing all project-specific activities in a manner that will meet company and customer expectations.



Manage Program Managers to the below Requirements:



  • Lead all aspects of product programs through the program management process.


  • Lead the APQP Process.


  • Prepares Product Launch Timelines.


  • Coordinates sample development and delivery.


  • Leads multi-department cost/planning review Meetings.


  • Provides liaison between customer and manufacturing plant.


  • Works with engineers, designers, purchasing and suppliers on changes and adjustments to Product/ Process.


  • Consults with clients, vendors, and personnel in other departments to discuss and corrective actions and resolve issues.


  • Develops launch budget. Ensures launch costs are within budget.


  • Assures disciplined change management of engineering and commercial changes.


  • Assures that all APQP records remain up to date.


  • Ensures customer milestones are completed on time.


  • Evaluates and improves company's program management processes.


  • Supports the Cost Savings / VAVE efforts.


  • Ensures financial budgets are followed.


  • Other duties as assigned by management.



Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor?s degree in engineering (ME or IE) required.


  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Program Management.


  • 5 years? minimum experience in leadership or project management, research, product planning, project budget and cost management in the automotive industry


  • PMP certification.


  • Strong cut, sew, foam, wrapping and assembly cost estimating background in the soft interior trim automotive industry.


  • Strong understanding of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Standardized Work.


  • Knowledgeable of PPAP requirements.


  • Ability to coach individuals to follow established procedures.


  • Experience with part approval with the OEMS and Tier 1 customers (AAR, Construction, Validation, etc.)


  • Excellent communication skills.


  • Organized and detail-oriented.


  • Bi-lingual (English & Spanish) preferred.


  • Demonstrated Player/Coach who motivates and educates other team members.



Travel



  • This position requires up to 25% travel. Some of the travel is international.




 

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
